Trickle

Today I am a moment

Silence, as I foment

Trivial, rememberance

A travesty, an encumbrance

Marked territories and maps

Torn and worn footpaths

Yours long erased

Memories no longer embraced

//your dose of musically-inspired poetry

You left the window open,

I saw through, as a breeze entered in

You were traveling deeper within

I reached for your hand, you withdrew

Knowing you, I already knew

I would say to you,

“If you only knew the rain

That constantly pelts inside

Creating the rivers and valleys

Those of mine you call ‘beautiful’”

There is triumph in trauma

In you, as in me

I’ll let my voice echo

Until you look back

///your random dose of musically-inspired poetry

I would hold my hands and pray

That this could be any other way

Now I take my place among the stars

Brilliantly bursting, but from afar

Silently lighting your room tonight

And your mind’s tricky travel through dreams

Quiet, as I slowly fade

Into your memory, I will stay

Watch as I turn to black and gray

Darling, remember me as a time of day
